Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
December 15
Dear Journal,
So extreme growth has continued as the tree has reached full height. I decided to indulge childhood impulses and climb it to the top. From this height I swear I saw something large and fast scaling the cliffs above my encampment. It looked like some sort of large flightless bird, but didn’t seem to have any feathers…

Dear Journal,
I was about to jump into my tent for an afternoon nap when a large helicopter caught my attention. I thought it was dropping off more equipment but was surprised to see a person leap from the aircraft. I had been notified that I would be accompanied but they failed to mention that my associate would be an old collegue of mine Dr. Ellie Sattler…I have not seen here since that night…two years ago…I suddenly became aware of my body odor

Dear Diary,
It was wonderful and terrifying to see Alan again. It’s been two years now and he hasn’t changed a bit. Still as cynical, dedicated and awkwardly endearing as he use to be. Today I was collecting local specimens of reptilian with a study case I unpacked yesterday and he went to help me lift it and out hands grazed…my god I sound like a teenage girl right now, but there is still something there…though I don’t think it ever left. Oh Alan…that man always has his head in the cloud…he must have been taking his motorbike on some extreme trails because I noticed scratch marks all over the frame…
Yours,
Ellie

Dear Journal,
I couldn’t resist her

On the Thirteenth and fourteenth day of Christmas…
(From the Journal of Dr. Alan Grant)
December Fourteenth.
Dear Journal.
Yesterday I observed an incredible case of rapid flora growth.
When I returned to the carnivorous plant I noticed the beginnings of a tree that was not there before. This place never ceases to surprise me.
I went back today to see if there had been any progress on the tree. It had growth a solid foot overnight.
My agitation has been pushed to it’s very limits, as last night I heard the same large creature from several nights ago. It’s obvious my nerves are shot because I struck my slithery friend with my pick ax (which has been my security blanket lately) as it was hunting a small lizard. So much for not disturbing the locals. Lucky lizard though…looks like I’ll be having snake for dinner.
Something is out there. I can sense it constantly watching me.
Signed,
Dr. Alan Grant.
On the Twelfth Day of Christmas…

December 12
Dear Journal,
I swear I heard something very large outside of my tent early this morning in the dark. I could hear the rustling of bushes and the faint sound of heavy breathing. Armed with a pick ax I rushed outside the tent to see if I could see what it was but couldn’t see anything in the dark. Something is out there. I know it is.
Signed,
Dr. Alan Grant.
On the Ninth Tenth and Eleventh day of Christmas…
From the Journal of Dr. Alan Grant:
December 11.
Dear Journal,
I apologize for my absence these last few days. I have been busy shipping Rudy’s fossilized remains back to the lab to be properly researched.
My nerves seem to be getting the best of me lately. Two days ago at Breakfast a snake decided to accompany me in the heat of my fire, giving me quite a fright as he is the first form of fauna I have seen since I have been on the island.
Yesterday I was gifted with a Camcorder from the Lab to digitally record my journey and was able to get my slithery friend on tape as well as the less delightful discovery of a scorpion who decided to take a nap on my hat.
Today I discovered a very strange plant that gave off the had the odor of rotting meat, which much to the dismay of the scorpion turned out to be a carnivorous flower. Seems like everything around here is trying to eat something else.
I also have the strange feeling I am being watched.
Signed,
Dr. Alan Grant
From the Journal of Dr. Alan Grant…
December 08
Dear Journal, today I have uncovered a most incredible discovery. After only being on this island for 8 days I have unearth the fossilized remains of an unidentified creature.
It is a rare experience to find the complete remains and I have taken it upon myself to assemble the pieces and discovery what this new species looked like.
I have decided to dub it “Rudy” rudolphasaurous.
What a find.
Signed, Alan Grant.
Tis the sixth and seventh day of Christmas…
December 6th: A pair of walki-talkies was endowed upon Grant. Can we assume the arrival of a fellow colleague on this DinoADVENTure?
December 7th: A set of tools to excavate the land for fossils! Unless the remains of dinosaurs isn’t all we are going to find on this mysterious island….
And on the Fourth and Fifth day of our DinoADVENTure Chrismas…
December Fourth: Alan Grant was blessed (much to his mother’s disapproval due to poor Uncle Matt’s motobike accident of 03) with his very own set of wheels which can thus allow him to cover more ground of his Jurassic playground.
December Fifth: Total let down after the Euphoria of the bike, with some dinky sample boxes from the lab. Whomp whomp.
Third day of Christopher’s DinoADVENTure
December Third: Every good adventurer requires a GPS system to safely explore the realms of a lost world!
Day two of my DinoADVENTure (see what I did there?! eh eh ehhhhhh)
December 2nd: Alan Grant is decked out for ADVENTure with his spiffy new Hat and Binoculars.
This is the 3D dinosaur advent Calendar that my mum got me for December. Everyday you get a little figure to add to your cardboard ”dinosaur adventure scene”.
My mum is kinda the coolest person ever.
December 1st: this little archaeologist whom I dubbed Alan Grant
